Theodore Briscoe III is no stranger to the courtroom, having represented more than 2,500 clients in active cases across the state of Virginia. Theo joined Geoff McDonald & Associates in 2019, with over 6 years of experience in criminal trials. He prides himself in his ability to advocate on behalf of others.
Theo’s role at Geoff McDonald & Associates consists of handling the firm’s largest cases that are actively in litigation. Since joining Geoff McDonald & Associates he has secured multimillion dollar awards against the nation’s largest corporations. Immediately upon joining Geoff McDonald & Associates, Theo obtained justice for the family of a man who was unjustly killed by a police officer. Since then, he has represented clients harmed by commercial trucks, balcony collapses, structural failings, chemical explosions, and police officer misconduct.
Theo has been recognized by the National Black Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40.”
Originally from Baltimore, Theo has lived in Richmond, since graduating from William & Mary Law School in 2013. Before law school, Theo attended Ithaca College, where he studied abroad in China, Morocco, and Spain while obtaining his bachelor’s in finance and international business.
At William & Mary Law School, he was one of three students in his graduating class selected to be published in the William & Mary Business Law Review. During his time as a law student, he interned at prosecutor’s offices and through a legal aid clinic, and otherwise built a resume based on in-court action. Known by his friends and family as a man who will fight for what he believes in, Theo quickly became fascinated by the complexities that surround trial work.
His core areas of practice are rooted in jury trials. Captivated by the intensity brought on by jury trials, Theo admires the level of focus, necessity for raw instinct, and level of preparation each trial demands of him.
When he’s not fighting for others, Theo enjoys spending his free time appreciating all things fast. He is a huge fan of Formula 1 and MotoGP racing and can occasionally be found lapping his SuperSport motorcycle around various racetracks in the country. He is also a loyal fan of his hometown Baltimore Ravens.
