Wyck Sweeney is a dedicated attorney in the Workers’ Compensation Department at Geoff McDonald & Associates, P.C. He is committed to providing exceptional legal representation both in and out of the courtroom. Wyck is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Virginia.
A graduate of the College of Charleston, Wyck earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007. Following his undergraduate studies, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he gained valuable legal experience. He worked as a research assistant on one of the largest criminal antitrust cases in U.S. history and later as a paralegal for a leading corporate immigration law firm.
In 2011, Wyck pursued his Juris Doctor at the University of Georgia School of Law. During his time there, he worked with the Athens-Clarke County District Attorney’s Office, the Western Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office, and Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, handling cases ranging from homicide to intellectual property disputes.
After earning his law degree in 2014, Wyck relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, to begin his legal career. Initially managing bands, he transitioned into litigation, representing the State of Tennessee. After three years as a litigator, he was appointed an Administrative Judge for the Tennessee Healthcare and Finance Division, where he presided over more than 600 cases annually and issued over 2,000 orders.
In 2021, Wyck and his wife decided to return to his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, to be closer to family as they welcomed their first child. Upon his return, he shifted his legal focus from public service to advocating for injured workers—people he grew up working alongside in construction, agriculture, and the restaurant industry.
In his free time, Wyck enjoys spending quality time with his family, woodworking, watching the Georgia Bulldogs, cooking, and spending time on the James and Pamunkey Rivers.
